The indecisives

My new band is still looking for a name. It doesn't help that the 4 of us are probably the most indecisive people in the world. Anyway, I'm open to suggestions. The only names we've come up with so far are:

9:00 Special
The Wingmen
Four Gennessee

As you can tell, we haven't come up with much... and one of the names is modelled after a chicken finger/pabst special at Blacky's. So we need lots of help.

Just so I can keep track of the songs I do at open mic, here is the set I played last Wednesday. I am quickly running out of songs to play.

Learning to Fly - Petty
California Stars - Guthrie, Tweedy and Bennett
Farmhouse - Phish
Elderly Woman behind the Counter in a Small Town - Pearl Jam
What I Got - Sublime

Holy $#*%!!!

Thanks to my new reader restless angel, I realized that tomorrow is my 1-year anniversary of this blog! Never thought I would have kept it up this long. It's just cool to know that I could write anything I want and eventually somebody might one day possibly think about maybe reading part of it.

So I jumped out of a plane yesterday. Yup, my first tandum skydive. We went up to 13,500 ft and fell back towards the Earth with nothing but a parachute to keep me alive. Definitely the craziest thing I've ever done. I was a little scared when I was about 100 feet above the ground and my skydive instructor (who I'm pretty sure was Jason Veritek in disguise) yelled out "Oh shit!". Those are probably the last 2 words you want to hear when you are falling from the sky. But as you can tell, I'm still alive.

Anyway, my blog's birthday is tomorrow and I've passed 1500 visits (although probably half of those are just me making sure I didn't post something stupid while I was drunk the night before). So cheers to year 1. Let's see if I can keep it up another year.

What's going on?

I'm not going to apologize for taking so long between posts. However, I do wish that I posted more often. I've been doing way too much stuff around here to keep up with this blog. But I'll keep trucking on and posting as often as I can. Here's what's been going on.

The Brew Crew record: 1-6 (hey, it's our first year ok?)

Best deal in town: Blacky's Thursday night... buy an order of chicken fingers and drink mugs of Pabst for 75 cents the rest of the night!

Been playing lots of open mic nights. Here are the set lists that I've done so far:
Night 1
Hide Your Love Away - Beatles
Passenger Side - Wilco
Wonderwall - Oasis
Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond... this one brought the house down
Night 2
Rambling Man - Allman Brothers
Run - Snow Patrol
Rocky Raccoon - Beatles
Crazy Game of Poker - O.A.R.
Night 3
I've Just Seen a Face - Beatles
Me and Julio - Paul Simon
Stay or Leave - Dave Matthews
The General - Dispatch
Rodeo Clowns - G. Love & Special Sauce

Been going to the Boston area a lot recently. Hit up Boston Brew Works and ordered the Victory Ale and it tasted sweeeeeeeet.

Speaking of brewing beer... I'll be starting my next batch soon. All I can tell you is that I'm calling it "The Woodsman" (no association with the movie). It's going to be awesome.

I've kind of been hooked on the "myspace" website. People there are so friendly. I get random people requesting to be my "friend" all the time. It's pretty cool.

Ok, this post is already too long so time to cut it off. Maybe I'll get some more updates up here soon. Or actually get a chance to write something entertaining... haven't done that in a while.
