Cell phone safety

My cell phone was working great for about a year. Once it had it's first birthday, it just decided to start sucking. Anybody else have this problem?

It's a Verizon LG phone. I never get signal anymore and the battery rarely lasts more than half a day.

Any suggestions on better phones for the NJ area? I need help and I now hate Verizon (but I'm stuck with them for another year).

Also, did anybody else hear the report that said you shouldn't keep your cell phone in your pocket anymore? Apparently it's not good for men because the phone's antenna is emitting RF signals, which creates an electro-magnetic field, which is not something you want near your balls.
