Remy withdrawal and other stuff

God damn it I hate the weather in New Jersey. It barely snows all winter when I want to go snowboarding, but now it's April and I want to play softball and we have a blizzard. Damn you Jersey! Damn you all to hell.

I saw Coldplay a couple of weeks ago at Continental Areana and it was awesome. They really put on a great show. Even did a short acoustic set in the middle where they played Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire. Very Cool. A nice little surprise was Richard Ashcroft (ex-lead singer of the Verve) and his new band taking care of the opening. They played some old Verve songs, which was very cool (Drugs Don't Work, Lucky Man, and of course Bittersweet Symphony). Overall a great show and my floor seats did not disappoint.

I went home for lunch yesterday and the minute I turn on my TV I see Bronson Arroyo up to bat for the Reds. So weird to see him in another uniform... and swinging a bat. I always liked him (dispite the cornrows) and thought he would have been a great bullpin guy for the Sox. Anyway, the very next pitch he hits a homerun. Arroyo can hit homeruns? Where did that come from? I wish him the best of luck in Cincy.

Thank you to Keith Foulke for ruining my fantasy baseball team. That being said, I am officially excited for the Jonathan Papelbon era.

One more thing I need to vent about. I was going to buy the MLB cable package this year so I can watch the Sox games from my Jersey apartment. So I called Cablevision (AKA "the Prince of Darkness") and they said that since my roommate is moving out next month (and taking the cable boxes with him) I would need to buy the package now and again when he moves out. What?!? They actually expect me to puchase the $170 package twice. Looks like I'll have to survive the first month of the season with the YES network and my arch nemesis' Jim Kaat and Michael Kay.

I miss you Jerry Remy. See you in a month.
